Scope: Undertaking field investigations; the fieldwork for the survey primarily involved drilling a total of 6 boreholes to depth of 10m (2 No. boreholes at each bridge location), laboratory testing and preparation factual and engineering geotechnical reports.
Barlaw Limited was sub-contracted to conduct geotechnical investigations in support of the proposed 3 number pedestrian bridges along Mombasa Road at Airtel, Syokimau and Katani Road junction. The primary purpose of the investigation was to establish the subsurface stratigraphy at the bridge sites as well as determine the geotechnical parameters of the subsurface materials for use in developing recommendations for safe and cost-effective foundations.
