Reinstatement of Damaged Malakisi Bridge and Approach Roads

Scope: Undertaking field investigations; the fieldwork for the survey involved drilling a total of 4 boreholes to depths of 15.00m below natural ground level, laboratory testing and preparation factual and engineering geotechnical reports.

Barlaw Limited was retained to conduct a geotechnical investigation in support of the proposed reinstatement of the damaged Malakisi bridge, Bungoma County. The primary purpose of the investigation was to establish the subsurface stratigraphy at the bridge site as well as determine the geotechnical parameters of the subsurface materials for use in developing recommendations for safe and cost-effective foundations.
